NEW DELHI - The swine influenza continues to create havoc in India, with a record 18 deaths Wednesday, while the total tax debt to the flu (H1N1) to 747, health authorities said here.
It was also reported 272 new cases in the country. with the total number of people affected by the flu is contagious 22,496.
While seven deaths were reported in Maharashtra, two deaths were reported in Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and the national capital. One death was reported also from Kerala.

"With these two deaths, the total number of deaths is 48 in New Delhi, Anjana Prakash, another officer handling cases of swine flu in Delhi, said IANSA.
The woman was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, while the man was in the Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narain Hospital.
New Delhi also registered 169 new cases of swine flu on Wednesday. Of these, 98 children. Takes place in the cumulative total number of cases of swine flu in the capital and in 7811, said Prakash.
