French Nurses refuse Swine Flu Vaccine

According to a survey by the French national union of nurses qualified (SNPI CFE-CGC), 65% of all nurses in France rejected the "swine flu" vaccine because of safety concerns.

The results of a survey of 4107 nurses, which was held September 16, shows that only 26% of nurses accept French H1N1 vaccine with another 9% still undecided.

The protests of the nurses seem to have an impact on the French Minister of Health, which has indicated that it would abandon its plan to provide vaccine with adjuvant in pregnant women.

Thierry Amouroux, Secretary SNPI CFE-CGC, said the injection of 94 million doses of H1N1 vaccine in the population as the French government has plans for what constitutes a "health problem" because the "swine flu" vaccine has been "weak regulatory environment quickly, with the undeniable presence of additives."

He said it was a requirement so that nurses provide appropriate information to the public because "everyone can make their own decisions with full knowledge of the subject and the free and informed consent."
