New Delhi - Authorities in India, financial hub Mumbai Wednesday ordered all schools and universities closed for a week, for fear of the spread of swine influenza H1N1.
The students were asked to stay home for seven days, starting on Thursday IANSA press agency reported. Shopping malls and cinemas in the capital of Maharashtra state is closed for three days.
Mumbai and its surrounding area is approximately 20 million people.
On Monday, schools were closed in the city of Pune, 160 km south-west of Mumbai as a result of the increase in the number of pig flu infections.
